Our areas of focus
We are driven by a mission to care and a vision to cure. On the path to achieving that vision, we work tirelessly to ensure Kiwis have access to the highest global standards of care.
Our advocacy is rooted in the real-life experiences of those affected by blood cancer, along with the insights of leading experts who understand the unique challenges New Zealanders face. Through research, insights, and patient stories, we shape policies and raise public awareness, ensuring that blood cancer remains a visible and urgent issue on the healthcare agenda.
One of the most critical challenges for blood cancer patients is timely access to essential therapies and services through the public health system. This remains a regular focus in our discussions with Ministers, MPs, health officials, and government agencies.
We address immediate concerns such as access to medicines, clinical trials, stem cell transplant services, and funding for ancillary care; while also advocating for long-term policy changes that can sustainably deliver world-class care to Kiwis with blood cancer.
At the core of everything we do is the perspective and voice of patients, ensuring their needs and concerns shape our strategies and actions.
Key initiatives & campaigns
Our mission comes to life through a variety of impactful advocacy events and campaigns. These initiatives are designed to raise awareness, drive meaningful change, and engage our community in making a difference. Explore the highlights of our ongoing efforts below.

Make a FUSS
This year we ask you to make a FUSS
Blood cancer symptoms can be vague and are often put down to other things. Our campaign encourages people to take notice when symptoms don’t go away, are unusual or more severe than normal, particularly when several are happening at the same time.
The message is deliberately simple: “A few of these? Not going away? Get checked. Get a blood test.”
We want to encourage people to seek medical advice when something doesn’t feel right. Doing that may help shorten the journey to diagnosis and reduce avoidable complications. -
