Blood Cancer NZ Research Unit

The Blood Cancer NZ Research Unit is our flagship research partnership with the University of Auckland. It is helping New Zealand move toward more personalised, targeted, and effective treatments for blood cancers.

About

Blood cancers are complex, and each patient’s disease can behave differently. The Blood Cancer NZ Research Unit is helping researchers better understand these differences so treatment can become more precise, more effective and less toxic.

This work includes advanced genetic testing that gives clinicians better information to guide care. The Unit is also developing new ways to detect relapse earlier, before symptoms appear, so patients may be able to access targeted treatment sooner.

Together, this research is helping turn scientific discovery into real progress for patients today and in the future.
